150m-euro Chinese plant in "Nokia Village"
 
A Chinese firm is set to invest 150m euros in the "Nokia Village" at Tetarom III  Industrial Park near Jucu, Cluj county, with a view to producing subassemblies, stated the president of Cluj County Council, Marius Nicoara.
 
"(...) Suppliers of parts for mobile phones have started arriving. The first firm we conducted meetings with is an important company from China, which will produce subassemblies, invest 150m euros and will create 6,000 new jobs," stated Nicoara. Nicoara maintains he also held talks with other companies and in September will enter talks with another four firms from Hungary, Finland and Germany, which are also suppliers of parts for Nokia.
 
According to Nicoara, the Chinese firm is also interested in another investment in Cluj county, put at 250m euros, with the details to be confirmed next month.
