EUR 500 M project for a Motorway between Nokia factory Cluj and Transylvania Highway

Cluj Napoca – The mobile phone factory from Romania belonging to the Finnish group Nokia will benefit from a motorway having a length of 40 km, which requires investments of almost EUR 500 M and will secure the automotive connection between the production unit, Cluj Napoca city and Transilvania Highway, Rompres informs.
 
“The urban motorway will be built in the Southern part of  Cluj – Napoca municipal, and the works could start next year. This urban motorway will have 40 km, the investment costs amounting to EUR 495 M”, according to those declared on Friday, in Cluj Napoca, by the general manager of National Company for Highways and National Roads in Romania, Mihai Grecu, after a meeting with the local and county authorities.
 

The president of Cluj County Council, Marius Nicoara, affirmed that the highway had the role of facilitating a faster automotive traffic from Nokia investment towards Cluj Napoca airport, county residence municipal and Transilvania Highway.
 
“When production starts at Nokia , there will be thousands of cars and trucks that need to get from the factory to the airport and to Transilvania Highway. Also, the motorway could serve as a detour belt of Cluj Napoca municipal along Bistrita – Dej to Zalau route”, Nicoara said.
